Tea as a remembrance of Doreen Babb

September 25, 2008

My friends, Charlie and Paul Babb recently bade farewell to their dear Mum, and decided to celebrate the gathering in celebration of her life with family and friends by paying homage to her love of tea. At the gathering, they gave everyone a beautiful silk bag containing tea, with the following message. A truly fine way to remember a wonderful lady.

Visit to Teaworks in Mission Viejo, Orange County

September 23, 2008

Ruth and I, along with Jessica Chrysler, who has worked extensively on the design for product and packaging, recently visited Teaworks, who are importing and packaging my product. Al Sherner, the Proprietor was most helpful in showing us his system for bagging the tea, packaging it, and shipping etc. He and Jessica discussed at length all the advantages and disadvantages of different types of packaging materials, and Jessica finally got to work on a revised version of the British phone Box, incorporating all the decisions that were made. I had a couple of pictures taken trying to look as though I knew how to operate the machinery, but it is really a job for Al’s experts. Apart from the four current flavours, we talked about extending into other varieties in a little while. The range of possibilities is endless, with delightful sounding brews like peach tea, white tea, peppermint tea, etc. We are looking into that and hope to have a bigger range before too long. But baby steps…

The wedding of Cindy Rosmann and Gary Bostwick

September 22, 2008

On 21st September, 2008, I had the privilege of being a guest at the beautiful wedding ceremony of these two dear friends, and was also happy to present my teas as a gift, which the company at large enjoyed. The caterer was so impressed that he is going to use my teas at many of his high end “posh” events all over California.

Liverpool, City of Culture, Lambananas

September 11, 2008

One of the big celebratory points in Liverpool for this special year has been the Lambananas. If you haven’t checked them out, Google The Liverpool Echo. My dear friend, Pete Price sponsored one which had jokes posted on it, one of which was mine, which made me very proud. A couple of nights ago there was a huge auction at St. George’s Hall of many of the Lambananas, and Pete was prominent in the presentation, which raised half a million GB pounds for charity. No mean feat. It was evidently a fantastic night, and amongst the attendees were the artists who created the exhibits, and according to Pete, they were celebrating in grand style.

Tea helps your immune system before flying

September 3, 2008

According to the National Academy of Sciences, you should schedule more time for tea every day. They suggest drinking 20 ounces of black tea daily before you go flying. Their sources indicate that this causes the body to secrete two to four times more interferon, thus strengthening the immune system. If I drink 20 ounces a day I will be floating, but I sure intend to give it a good old try. If I succeed, I should be as fit as Michael Phelps by the time I finish. He’d better watch out in 2012 – and I can’t even swim!
